How to Be AMAZINGLY Beautiful Today!

Do you know the answer to REAL beauty? Do you work hard to make yourself look or feel beautiful, but feel like you are still missing the mark? Chances are you may be investing your time, money and energy into the wrong product line.

I’ve always known there was more to beauty than what’s on the outside (at least that’s what we’ve been told), but it wasn’t until recently that it truly clicked with me. The answer clicked in one of the strangest places you could imagine. Where do you think? Take a guess!

The answer to true beauty was answered for me during a visit to a local funeral home! Yes a funeral home! I went to visit and pay respects to an AMAZING man who made a difference in the life of many. He was a handsome, fun spirited man, loaded with wisdom and a kind heart. When walking up to see him, a family member said, “He looks so good. It was just so unexpected. He was so healthy and he looks so good.” All the time I am thinking, what are you talking about? He doesn’t look good. He doesn’t look like the man I just seen a month ago. Of course he was in his best suit, with the best make up, with the best jewelry, but there was something missing! He was missing! His beautiful spirit, which made his external self handsome, had disappeared. All the fancy clothes, the nice casket and the beautiful flowers, did not make him look like the man I remembered.

This experience confirmed some of what I already knew, but helped bring clarity to what is important when it comes to true beauty. Living in America, many of us are running around trying to live up to the fashion recommendations, keeping our nails and hair did, buying the best cars and running the rat race to do what we think we need to do to be wanted, beautiful and happy! When really all the money, time and energy invested in these tasks and items, leaves us stressed with bad attitudes wondering why we still don’t feel like we have enough or look good enough.

The answer to true beauty is not in the botox injection, it does not come from the Dillard’s makeup counter or from the scalpel the surgeon holds in his hands. True beauty really does come from within. The way you feel about yourself and how you treat others with gratitude, gratefulness and compassion, is what will determine your level of beauty. Think about it. Think about a time you seen someone who was just gorgeous! They seemed to have everything. The hair, the car, the great facial features and then all of a sudden they opened up their selfish, egotistical mouth. All of a sudden those great looks faded away and all you could hear was, “blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.”  On the contrary, think of a time you met someone you considered a 5 on a scale of 1 -10. Then each day you got to know them and each day you seen their beautiful spirit of kindness and support, you suddenly became more and more attracted to someone whom you thought was a 5 and now looked like a 10!

It’s the spirit that makes you BEAUTIFUL! You can choose to start being BEAUTIFUL today! People will want to be around you, they will want to help you and they will admire the person you are versus the bank account you have. Beauty is delivered through your daily thoughts of yourself and others. All the pedicures, shoes and nice hairstyles, will never achieve the level of beauty a confident, healthy mind can achieve.

If you want to start achieving PURE BEAUTY today, start investing your time in making your mind healthy. Start giving yourself selflessly to others in need.  Stop striving to have more and start striving to love more. Live in the moment, while planning for the future. Really some of us may think others like us for our car, our body or our style. At the end of the day, the people that truly love us, barely see past our bright eyes and beautiful smiles, let alone notice your imperfect body or your nice nails.

Focus on being grateful for others, not envious. Know that no matter who you think has it better, we all have a story. We all have flaws. What makes us truly different is how we deal with our flaws and how we treat others as we get through this game called LIFE.

When you are gone, I can promise you, I, nor anyone else will care what you weighed, what you wore or how nice your car was. We will only remember the legacy you left and the beauty you shared through your spirit. Remember to value your true self and practice living Beautiful today!

Saving Money and Saving Your Health

How many times have we heard it is too expensive to eat healthy? Or it’s too much work to cook a good meal. In some cases this may be true, but in most cases, this train of thought has been programmed into our head through commercials, news reports and mass marketing campaigns.

Selling on us on convenience, buy one get one free and extra large has been the theme for the past 30 years. In no way has this been cheaper or more convenient. It has just built the perception of being “easier”.

When you or your family is suffering through self esteem issues, diabetes II, asthma, heart disease or joint pain, the cheap cost of buy one get one free and extreme couponing is really not too convenient nor affordable. If anything… it is a huge waste of time and quality of life.

I personally struggled with the thought of buying organic foods, visiting the farmer’s market and having to cook dinner after working a 14 hour day. Then some amazing resources were sent my way to change my perception. Movies such as FOOD INC., The Killer at Large  and books such as The End of Overeating, Food Rules and the World’s Healthiest Foods changed my perception on how easier eating healthier could be.

If you fear buying different foods, giving up foods you love or having to cook dinner every night, I’m here to tell you that YOU CAN DO IT! One small step at a time you can work towards a healthier you and a healthier family, easily and afford ably without feeling deprived.
Not only can you extend your quality of life, you will save THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

Now everyone has their version of what eating healthy consists of, but as I offer you tips on how to make this change, I am going to keep it pretty basic. I am going to stick with foods that look like real food and have been made from nature, not by man.

TOP THREE HEALTH & MONEY SAVING TIPS

1. Quit Buying Frilly Drinks-
What do you give your pets to drink? Your birds, plants and grass? All living creatures need WATER to live. The birds, plants, animals and trees are not depressed because they can’t drink Snapple, SOBE, Mountain Dew or Venti Coffee. Those born in other countries are starving for clean water and we toss it away because it is boring. Liven up your water! Add a splash of 100% cranberry grape juice, oranges, lemons or limes. Add some ice. DRINK WATER! YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU FOR IT and so will your wallet.

2. Eat Food for Energy-
Your body needs food for energy to live. It was never designed to eat fake nutrition bars, protein powders and eat only one meal per day. The more natural the food is, the better your metabolism works and it’s a lot cheaper than $40 tubs of supplements and $2-$3 chemical bars. We were never designed to over stuff ourselves, nor to starve ourselves. We were built to eat REAL FOOD FOR FUEL. Try eating grapes, organic apples, hard boiled eggs, lean meat for your snacks and/or meals. Keep the processed stuff to less than 3 servings per day.

3. Reprogram Your Thinking-
When you need something quick, don’t think you must go to the drive thru or you must stop at a convenient store. Pull up to your local grocery store and pick up a rotisserie chicken, a can of beans and a can of green beans, walk out and put it on the table. This is quicker and cheaper than waiting in the drive thru line. Pop in the store and pick up a fruit cup and a bag of cheese sticks for a quick snack to hold you over. Eating healthier can be quick as long as you are willing to think differently. If your kids are hungry in the store, don’t take them to get the free cookie that really isn’t free, pick up a fresh fruit cup or an organic box of cereal and let them munch on it in the store. Think how can I make each meal or snack slightly healthier.

These small changes will help change your life. Refuse to let the food industry control your choices. Make the choice to be EMPOWERED, HEALTHY and IN CONTROL of your choices. Don’t be sold!

Is Brainwashing Making You Sick and Fat?

Have you been trying to eat healthy, but still feel like crap?
Or have you been trying to lose weight forever and just can’t seem to get it off?

Chances are the multi-billion dollar dieting and food industries have gotten ahold of your brain and warped it into making you believe what they want you to. With two-thirds of our adults being overweight, Diabetes numbers on the rise and obesity being more dangerous than ALL cancers combined, it’s important we work together to reprogram our thoughts and beliefs when it comes to living healthy.
Let me give you a few examples of how these industries are robbing you blind and stealing your health.

Brainwashing #1- Lets think about HIGH FIBER FOODS and SUGAR

Current marketing would make you believe it is much smarter to eat a high fiber bagel, cereal or pasta, than a banana, baked potato or an apple. We couldn’t possibly eat a piece of fruit or a potato. THOSE ARE CARBS and SUGAR!

                                              Potato Ingredients: Just Potato :>)

Sandwich Thins Ingredients:WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, UNBLEACHED ENRICHED WHEAT FLOUR [FLOUR, MALTED BARLEY FLOUR, REDUCED IRON, NIACIN, THIAMIN MONONITRATE (VITAMIN B1), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), FOLIC ACID], WATER, CELLULOSE FIBER, WHEAT GLUTEN, YEAST, SUGAR, CRACKED WHEAT, RYE, POLYDEXTROSE, SALT, GROUND CORN, CANOLA AND/OR SOYBEAN OIL, PRESERVATIVES (CALCIUMPROPIONATE, SORBIC ACID), GRAIN VINEGAR, GUAR GUM, CULTURED WHEAT FLOUR, BROWN RICE, OATS, MONOGLYCERIDES, SOYBEANS, TRITICALE, BARLEY, FLAXSEED, MILLET, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM STEAROYL LACTYLATE, SUCRALOSE, SOY LECITHIN.  YUCK!  HMMM? Do I see sugar and sucralose in these thins? What about genetically modified Soy?

Please do not fall for this tactic anymore. If you will eat a bagel, sandwich thins or cereal (which are ALL processed CARBS), I am here to let you know, it is definitely OK to eat natural, whole carbs from the Earth. Natural carbs from the Earth do not contain high amounts of sodium, synthetic vitamins or food additives. Go Organic and/or to your local farm for the best!
Brainwashing #2 Food is YOUR LIFE, YOUR COMFORT, YOUR HAPPINESS.
Modern day commercials would lead your kids to believe they will be a super hero if they eat a certain candy bar or have a party in their room with each bite of cereal. Fast food commercials and common restaurants want us to believe our happiness can only be achieved through eating our hearts out at their establishment.
FOOD is good, but it can never replace how good it feels to put on your pants or your dress and actually have them fit. It can not replace how you feel when your pictures are taken and show your healthy body.  Will it make you happier to eat whatever you want, even though it will cause you to die 5 years earlier and miss out on your children or spouses milestones in life?
FOOD is GOOD, but it does not bring LONG TERM HAPPINESS and you do not have to feel deprived because you set a few boundaries on what you will put in your mouth. You can know that you will be happier living a healthier life and having your favorites in moderation.
Brainwashing #3- YOU MUST LOSE WEIGHT FAST OR YOU ARE A FAILURE
Learning how to eat healthy, is just like any new habit, job or task we take on. When learning how to play a new sport, you stumble, make mistakes and it takes time to excel. You practice, keep trying and you may even hire a coach. When you get married, it’s tough learning how to communicate and overcome obstacles. A new business is a HUGE learning process. You make lots of mistakes, you put your life into it and you work hard to get through the early stages so you can hopefully reap the benefits later.
Since when do we think we can learn how to change every unhealthy habit we have in two weeks? How can we just start losing weight and know how to keep it off if we are not experts in this field and we have been practicing poor habits for years? Losing weight and improving your health is just like the new job, the sport and the new marriage. YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE MISTAKES! YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE SETBACKS! The key is to know this and accept it. Look at ways to overcome your obstacles, hire a coach, put in some extra studying time- DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO TAKE CARE OF YOU! If you stay consistent and keep your eye on the prize of what you want to look and feel like 3 months, 6 months, 6 years from now, YOU WILL ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS!
It’s time we get off the hamster wheel and GET REAL about taking care of our health!
If you want to continue to be lied to by weight loss doctors, pill mills and gimmicks, stay on the wheel.

Helping you stay motivated….

I just wanted to send a message to hopefully assist each of you in taking care of YOU!

Many of you are or have been exercising, trying to eat right or reduce stress to improve your overall health and/or body weight.

I know it can get discouraging when it seems as if life and society is working against you in achieving these goals. Or it can seem impossible to conquer all of these areas within the time frame we expect of ourselves.

Trying to lose weight, diet and exercise is HARD, STRESSFUL WORK, but it does not have to be.

We have to work together to change our perception of what exercise, relaxation and good food is. If we just exercise for weight loss or to temporarily get our health numbers in line, we’re missing the big picture. We’re missing the long term benefits of our daily, healthy choices.

Who do you love? Who means the most to you in your life? Is it your family, yourself, your God, your work? Whoever and whatever you love, is who you want to think about when you make choices to take care of your body.

Think about 5 years from now. Where do you want to be physically, mentally and emotionally five years from now? Do you want to see your children grow up? Do you want to see your parents grow old? Or see who your spouse is going to become? Do you want to have peace, mobility and independence?

Although there are no guarantees, do you realize that the rate in which you age and how you age is based on only 1/3 genetics and 2/3 your personal daily choices.

If you commit right now to making small daily choices to treat your body like the valuable gift it is, you will drastically slow your aging process, have the chance to increase your life span and be able to live in a mobile, healthy, beautiful body while you are alive and here on earth.

Making the choice to live healthier because you want to do your best to be here for your loved ones and you want to live life to the fullest without depression, pain and low self esteem, will change your whole perception about diet, exercise and rest. The whole process becomes much easier to live as a lifestyle and not a grueling “HAVE TO” process.

Although I know it is tempting to drop weight fast, work out hard or give up all together….

STOP yourself!

Slow down!

Think about what you really want.

Fast weight loss does not improve your mental state, hardcore exercise stresses the body and doing nothing is a waste of a beautiful human body that was designed to move.

As you move forward with your health experience and your journey in life, take small steps to live healthier. Look at your exercise routine, is it non-existent, if so, look for ways to add in 10-15 minutes of exercise per day. Is your exercise routine too much? Do you exercise more than an hour per day? If so, slow yourself down. Make one of your exercise routines healthy stretches or a moderate walk. Give your body the break it needs.

Look at your daily diet?

The definition of the word diet is:

a : food and drink regularly provided or consumed

b : habitual nourishment

Diet does not mean let me restrict myself to see how much weight I can drop or how many sugar free products I can consume to cure my diabetes. Your diet is your habitual nourishment. What you’re choosing regularly to drink and/or eat. Do you know your cells are changing everyday? Dying off and/or renewing each day. They can only renew based on what you feed them daily. You change from the inside out. Your cells will be composed of what you eat, think and do. By next year all of the cells in your body will have overturned. What will your cells be made up of? What will you look and feel like next year? It will largely be determined by what you habitually do this year.

Think today, what can I start to improve first. Once you conquer an easy change for you, then start setting your next goal to improve your overall health.

One step at a time, living healthier will be your lifestyle, just as being overstressed, overworked or unhealthy may be your lifestyle right now. We have each been making choices daily which have led us to our current state. No matter what our current state is, we always have room to learn, grow and improve. It is my passion and hope, that we can work together and as one, to always look for ways to improve our inner being and our health.

Lets not fall into the trap of main stream media, doubting ourselves, pressuring ourselves and buying into gimmicky products. Lets trust that we were born with the skills and the power to do anything we put our mind to and we can do it in a way which is balanced and healthy for ourselves.

Remember, if you think about what you want five years from now and you think about your loves in life, making good choices for you now, is not hard work. It’s JOY. It’s joy to think you are doing what you can to add value to you and to those around you, whether you are here for one more day or 20 more years. It’s nice to know you have made every effort to live your life to the fullest, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, one step at a time.

With love,

Kim Garcia
