Local health professionals Herson and Kim Garcia, have teamed up with the Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department to get our community moving and improve the health statistics of our entire county.
Two-thirds of Americans are now considered overweight and/or obese, while one-third of children are in the same position. Never in history have so many young people experienced chronic health conditions such as diabetes II, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It’s time we work together to improve our quality of life and our county.
The Hernando Health Experience is a three month program designed to help motivate, educate and support individuals and families to a healthier life. Whether you are in perfect health or in need of improvement, this program will be a benefit to your life and our county parks.
For only $35, you can register to be a participant in this program and receive over $500 in value of fitness, nutrition, education and support from GIME FITNESS and Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department. The cost is $45 after 1/1/2012 .
Once you are registered, you will be schedule for the KICKOFF EVENT January 14, 2012 at the Jerome Brown Center or earlier in the week at GIME Fitness for your scheduled weigh in and waist measurement. After you have been checked in, you will receive a 12 Week How To guide and food journal, along with several details as to how to find support and stay motivated to have your chance at winning up to $1000 and losing up to 25lbs!
GIME FITNESS and volunteers will be providing workouts in the park, twitter updates, grocery shopping tips, email support, Facebook messages and cooking videos to keep you and your family motivated along the journey.

It will be up to you to apply the information you are provided, but organizers of the Hernando Health Experience will ensure you have tons of education and support to help you stay on track!
At the end of three months, there will be a final measurement day set up the weekend of April 6-7, 2012 with top winners being awarded on April 21, 2012 at Reggae Fest!
Most Improved Prizes Awarded To:
First Place*
$500-$1000
Second Place*
$250-$500
Third Place*
$125-$250
Winners will be determined by percentage of total weight lost plus waist inches lost. The top three people will be awarded. If there is a tie, it will be broken by the person who lost the most overall pounds.
*Prize money will be determined by number of entries.
- Minimum of 150 participants will be awarded minimum amounts listed above
- Minimum of 300 participants will be awarded $750, $350 and $300
- Minimum of 500 participants will be awarded $1000, $500 and $350 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Ages 13 and up can participate with parent consent and parent participation in the program.
FOR BUSINESS OWNERS
Business owners are more than welcome to set up registrations for all employees. 20% of the cost of all wellness programs are tax deductible for most businesses. For every $1 invested in employee health, you will average a $3 return up to $10 due to increased morale, productivity and better health. Check with your accountant for more details pertaining to tax benefits and email hhe@gimefitness.com to set up your employees.
